Hamburg's Summer Dom, which ran for five weeks this year instead of the usual four, will keep its extended format in 2027, according to Hamburger Abendblatt. The new schedule was described as a full success by organizers.
The longer run drew roughly 1.7 million visitors, Boyens Medien reports. That figure came despite what t-online described as poor weather during parts of the event. NDR also noted the festival ended with a positive assessment, citing the five-week duration as a key factor.
The decision to extend the Summer Dom was a test for the city's beloved fair, which typically operates for a month. Organizers had hoped the extra week would attract more attendees and spread out crowds across a longer period. Based on the reported turnout, the experiment appears to have paid off.
